Johan Lambeck, Netherlands


Johan Lambeck PT owns Aquatic Therapy Consultancy. From 1979 – 1998, he was in charge of the Department of Aquatic Therapy in the Rehabilitation Centre Sint Maartenskliniek (Nijmegen, NL). He is co-founder of the International Halliwick Association and the  Association International Aquatic Therapy Faculty (IATF).

 

In 1998 he was named Aquatic Therapy Professional of the year in the USA. He has taught over 900 seminars in 50 countries on almost all topics in aquatic therapy.. He is the author or co-author of 5 books / CDRom’s , over 30 published articles and chapters in (peer reviewed) journals and books on aquatics and aquatic therapy. In 2005, he joined the Cochrane Collaboration balneotherapy review group. Johan was affiliated as Free Research Associate to the Faculty of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences, KU Leuven (2006-2016), joining the EU Erasmus Aquaevidence/Aquaoutcome project, see his Linkedin profile . His Research Gate Score SG = 21.45 and the h-index = 7.

 

Since July 2016 he is Honorary Chair of IATA-China and Honorary Advisor of the China Rehabilitation Research Center in Beijing.

 

His consultancy and teaching institute has clients in over 45 countries worldwide. As a knowledge broker, he tries to implement the existing evidence in the daily practice of aquatic therapy. Keywords are:

  • patient centered approach based on clinical reasoning
  • skillful hands-on teaching
  • teaching-by-reasoning-and-doing
